Unless something changes in the landscape of American Christianity, studies show there could be a loss of up to 42 million young people from the church by 2050.

As the backbone organization for the Decadal Plan, LEAD.NYC has felt called to step into this gap with a vision to reach one million new New Yorkers with the gospel by 2030. Through coordinated partnerships and intentional goals, we are bringing together the efforts of leaders, churches, and agencies across the region to see God work through five specific focuses.

The Five Focuses of The Decadal Plan:

United Prayer

Mobilizing 250,000 people to pray daily for this Decadal Plan

Sustainable Church Planting

Planting 2,000 new, healthy, and generative churches

Reaching, Discipling, and Empowering the Next Generation

Catechizing, engaging, and discipling 275,000 young leaders

Reaching, Empowering, and Equipping the Margins

Actively caring for and giving a voice to 250,000 image bearers living in poverty

Ethics and Philanthropy in the Marketplace

Tangibly affecting business in the workplace for generations to come

Five Commitments of The Decadal Plan
  • Recommit yourself to a passionate pursuit of God, both individually and collectively.
  • Deepen your devotion through prayer and reading Scripture.

  • “This isn’t a fleeting vision, it’s not something that will fluctuate with the cultural trends. This is a vision for the next 10 years, and it’s a vision that’s too big for any of us to accomplish on our own. We need God. We need to pray. We need to come together as the Church in New York. We need to know where we’re coming from, who we are today, and who we can be tomorrow.”
